untitled
You can convince yourself that you can fly all you like... we know that if you fling yourself from a window you'll fall!  It's the same with magic.. it has its own 'physics'. Ignore them at your peril!
You've seen in books... "It's the intention that matters".  Hmmm, fall onto a blade carried carelessly, or get stabbed maliciously - they both cut you; they both bleed; they might both kill. Would it make YOU feel any better to hear someone say 'I didn't mean it, it was an accident!'  No. Thought not!

Don't stick your finger in the socket!

Magic is real.... and, as with everything 'real' it has cause and effect.

Cast a spell.. and if you've done it right, you're strong enough.. and no one has a counterspell.. it WILL work. So best you get it right eh? Because, like a bullet, once fired you can't call a spell back.

There is no 'nicey, nicey' to be seen in Owl-Light. Not because we are nasty people (actually, we are fun-loving, happy folk), but because we don't believe in pandering to people's fantasies and misconceptions. To do so is called 'deception'.  You want to know that what you are doing works. You want to know the pitfalls, the short-cuts, the cost. You want to know that sticking your finger in the socket is a sure-fire way of YOU and those around you getting hurt.
